THE PREVIOUS WORLD CUP TOURNAMENTS :

THE FISRT WORLD CUP (URUGUAY 1930):

Host country: Uruguay.
The number of the teams participating: 13.
The winner: Uruguay.
Runner up: Argentina:
Second runner up: USA.
Best scorer: Argentinean Giermo Stabel (8 goals).
Notes: Most of the European countries didnt participate in it raising an objection to the organization of the world cup in South America.

THE SECOND WORLD CUP (ITALY 1934):

Host country: Italy.
The number of the teams participating: 16.
The winner: Italy.
Runner up: Czechoslovakia:
Second runner up: Germany.
Best scorer: Oldrich Nigdely from Czechoslovakia (5 goals).
Notes: Uruguay didnt participate as revenge from the European countries that didnt participate in its cup, and it was the very first time an Arabic country ever participate in a world cup and that was Egypt.

THE THIRD WORLD CUP (FRANCE 1938):

Host country: France.
The number of the teams participating: 15.
The winner: Italy.
Runner up: Hungary.
Second runner up: Brazil.
Best scorer: Brazilian Lionidas Da Silva (8 goals).
Notes: It was the last world cup before the world war 2, and the FIFA gave no recognition to philistine in this cup.

THE FORTH WORLD CUP (BRAZIL 1950):

Host country: Brazil.
The number of the teams participating: 13.
The winner: Uruguay.
Runner up: Brazil.
Second runner up: Sweden.
Best scorer: Brazilian Admer Marquz Deminez (9 goals).
Notes: Germany were never allowed in the cup because of the war, and Israel were placed instead of philistine in the qualification round, and Gol Remie was hiding the trophy under his bed all the time during the war.

THE FIFTH WORLD CUP (SWITZWERLAND 1954):

Host country: Switzerland.
The number of the teams participating: 16.
The winner: Germany.
Runner up: Hungary.
Second runner up: Austria.
Best scorer: Hungarian Sander Cosich (11 goals).
Notes: This cup had the record number of goals ever scored in one cup, their has been 140 goals scored in 26 games only.

THE SISTH WORLD CUP (SWEDEN 1958):

Host country: Sweden.
The number of the teams participating: 16.
The winner: Brazil.
Runner up: Sweden.
Second runner up: France.
Best scorer: Just Fontine (13 goals).
Notes: Just Fontine scored the record number of goals scored in one cup for one player, he scored 13 goals in 5 matches only.

THE SEVENTH WORLD CUP (CHILE 1962):

Host country: Chile.
The number of the teams participating: 16.
The winner: Brazil.
Runner up: Czechoslovakia:
Second runner up: Chile.
Best scorer: Vava , Garanchia , Floran Albert, Ivan Sanchez , Jercovic (4 goals).

THE EIGHTH WORLD CUP (ENGLAND 1966):

Host country: England.
The number of the teams participating: 16.
The winner: England.
Runner up: Germany.
Second runner up: Portugal.
Best scorer: Uzebio from Portugal (9 goals).
Notes: The Mexican goal keeper gained the record number of participating in the world cup by participating 5 times in a row, not to mention the 26 goals interred his goal in this tournament which was named the goals festival.

THE NINTH WORLD CUP (MEXICO 1970):

Host country: Mexico.
The number of the teams participating: 16.
The winner: Brazil.
Runner up: Italy.
Second runner up: Germany.
Best scorer: German Gerd Mollar (10 goals).
Notes: The FIFA foreboded wearing T-shirt NO 13, because this T-shirt number raised the war between Salvador and Honduras which lead to the murder of 10 thousand person.

THE TENTH WORLD CUP (GERMANY 1974):

Host country: Western Germany.
The number of the teams participating: 16.
The winner: Western Germany.
Runner up: Holland.
Second runner up: Poland.
Best scorer: Lato from Poland (7 goals).
Notes: Russia withdraws from the tournament because the stadium of their game with chili ( conclusive match) was on a stadium that witnessed a communal execution, the FIFA didnt care so Russia withdraws and chili scored a goal.

THE ELEVENTH WORLD CUP (ARGENTINA 1978):

Host country: Argentina.
The number of the teams participating: 16.
The winner: Argentina.
Runner up: Holland.
Second runner up: Brazil.
Best scorer: Argentinean Mario Campis (6 goals).
Notes: Dutch Yohan Croyef had received a threatening letter for him and to his family to be killed if he participated in the final game, and the president of the Argentinean Football Federation has been murdered. So Croyef didnt play in the final leaving the way to Argentina to win the title.

THE TWELFTH WORLD CUP (SPAIN 1982):

Host country: Spain.
The number of the teams participating: 24.
The winner: Italy.
Runner up: Germany.
Second runner up: Poland.
Best scorer: Italian Paolo Rossi (6 goals).
Notes: 24 teams were allowed for the very first time, and 2 Arabic countries participated one of them was Kuwait which qualified for the first time ever, and didnt made it again till now.

THE THIRTEENTH WORLD CUP (MEXICO 1986):

Host country: Mexico.
The number of the teams participating: 24.
The winner: Argentina.
Runner up: Germany.
Second runner up: France.
Best scorer: Gary Linker (6 goals).
Notes: Colombia was the host country before they apologize and then shift the organizing to Mexico. And morocco was the first Arabic country to qualify to the second round.

THE FOURTEENTH WORLD CUP (ITALY 1990):

Host country: Italy.
The number of the teams participating: 24.
The winner: Germany.
Runner up: Argentina.
Second runner up: Italy.
Best scorer: Selvatory Skilatichi (6 goals).
Notes: Maradonna cried in the final game, and the English Hooligans has been isolated in Sardinia island to keep them away and not to rise troubles , and England has been placed in the top of the group to prevail peace during the tournament time.

THE FIFTEENTH WORLD CUP (USA 1994) :

Host country: USA.
The number of the teams participating: 24.
The winner: Brazil.
Runner up: Italy.
Second runner up: Sweden.
Best scorer: Bulgarian Cresto Stoichkov, and Russian Salinkov (6 goals).
Notes: Brazil broke the record and win the title for the forth time in its history while nobody ever before did the same number, and the final game ended with penalties, and that was the very first time the final game ever end with penalties.

THE SIXTEENTH WORLD CUP (FRANCE 1998):

Host country: France.
The number of the teams participating: 32.
The winner: France.
Runner up: Brazil.
Second runner up: Croatia.
Best scorer: Croatian Davor Sukar (6 goals).
Notes: Croatia was the Black horse in this cup, they were the third runner up while nobody thought that they might even make it through Romania in the second round.

THE SEVENTEENTH WORLD CUP (S.KOREA & JAPAN 2002 ) :

Host country: S.Korea & Japan.
The number of the teams participating: 32.
The winner: Brazil.
Runner up: Germany
Second runner up: Turkey.
Best scorer: Ronaldo (8 goeal).
Notes: It is the first time the cup will be held in the Asian continent, and the first time the cup will be organized by 2 countries, so the opening ceremony will be in S.Korea , and the final game will be in Japan , like what happened in the last European Cup of Nation in Holland and Belgium , and the last African Cup of Nation in Nigeria and Ghana.
